New Orleans Blues Festival Mission Statement:
Our mission is to develop and promote the largest yearly blues music festival in the State of Louisiana. It will become an outlet to celebrate blues excellence, preserve blues history, support blues education and ensure the future of this uniquely American art form. To support area musicians who perform this important cultural genre.
Our Vision for the future:
Once in a while everyone has the blues, blues music is an art form where these feelings are expressed in a positive way, somehow connecting us all. The 2-day annual event will grow in size each year and be self sufficient in 5 years. The festival will become an economic force in the community by providing jobs in the music industry, promoting blues music and tourism in the area. Our festival will showcase all types of blues music, progressive and traditional. We want to attract the best of the best in the blues business by having a New Orleans Blues Challenge welcoming blues artists from all over the country to participate. The festival will outreach to the community to promote blues in the schools and offer a blues summer camp program to disadvantaged children.
